- Central Transport, LLC, one of the nation’s most technologically advanced less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers, announces more equipment purchases and service enhancements.
2017 began with a new wave of equipment purchases for Central Transport. The Company continues its strategic network align¬ment and is working to continue to honing next day service as well as to make adjustments to long haul lanes for enhanced transit. Additionally, in the first two quarters of 2017, the Company will be purchasing a total of 601 New Peterbilt Day Cabs. 170 of these will be allocated to replacing tractors in Michigan. The remaining 431 will be replacing some of the 2015 Internationals throughout the nation. These investments will continue to rejuvenate the fleet, reducing the average tractor age, reducing breakdowns, and will serve to increase safety, service, and brand recognition.
Along with new tractors, significant investments in trailers will also be made in Q1 and Q2. Current 2017 plans include a total of 500 new trailers being purchased. These trailers will be inject¬ed into the trailer fleet nationwide.
These purchases, along with the continued investments and improvements to facili¬ties, and network realignment is a part of the Company’s dedication to provide quality services to their customers, and to be a top tier LTL provider for the United States and Canada.
